A fiery sky on the boulder opal fields.
This image was taken in 1991 during the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo. The skies in the southern hemisphere were filled with ash and dust resulting in sunsets like these night after night.
This particular image was taken during boulder opal mining activities at the Hammond mine on the Kyabra boulder opal field, Eromanga region of south western Queensland.
